(1) Autograph letter signed from G.C. Taylor to R.B. McKerrow; Taylor writes that he is enclosing something related to Shakespeare [not here]. He also encloses an original letter from McKerrow to Taylor [which is Y.c.3838 (2)]. (2) Typescript letter signed from McKerrow; thanks Professor Taylor for his subscription to R.E.S; mentions reviews that Taylor did not like. McKerrow writes that he is editing The Library only temporarily.

Taylor, George Coffin, 1877-1961

George Coffin Taylor was born in Charleston, S.C., in 1877. He was a gentleman farmer, lawyer, and Shakespeare scholar. He served for twenty-seven years on the faculty of the English Department at the University of North Carolina until retiring in 1949 to Columbia, S.C. Coffin died in 1961.
